Connecting a Roku Express to the Campus-Open Network

Overview: Connecting a Roku Express to the Campus-Open Network for the first time

Roku Express devices can be tricky to connect out of the box on USNH wireless.

Instructions:

  1. Step 1 - Power on the device. Wait for the "Let's Get Started" screen. Choose your language.
  2. Step 2 - The device will scan for wireless networks.
  3. Step 3 - On the "Choose Your Network" screen, do NOT connect to anything yet. Scroll down to other options and highlight "Scan again to see all networks" Here you will find your wireless MAC address. Keep this handy.
  4. Step 4 - Open a browser on a PC, tablet or smartphone and navigate to Network Registration. Sign in with your credentials, click the "My Devices" icon and "Register New Device"
  5. Step 5 - Enter your Roku's MAC address, click "Register", then wait a few minutes. Then try connecting to your Campus-Open wireless network. If successful, your Roku should immediately begin a software update.

Outcome:

Once connected to the Open network, your device should update and be ready to go. If not, it's likely been registered with an incorrect fingerprint. Please contact the help desk below for additional assistance.
