How-To

Task: Copy a collection in Mahara.

Instructions

Step 1 - Once logged into Mahara, click Main Menu on the upper right side of the dashboard.

Step 2 - Click Create, and then select Pages and Collections.

Step 3 - Click Copy on the upper right side of the screen.

Step 4 - In the search box, type at least the first three letters of the name of the portfolio template you want to copy. Click Search to find the files.

Step 5 - Click Copy collection next to the collection name you want. This copies all the pages in the template and will take a moment to complete. Do not click the button more than once.

Step 8 - When the copy is complete, it will open up on your screen with the ability to change the collection name. After making any changes to the collection name, click Next: Edit collection pages.

Step 9 - You will be sent to the Edit Collection page. Click Done at the bottom of the page.

Step 10 - You will be sent to the Pages and Collection screen. You can then navigate using the navigation block (in the upper right corner of the screen) to go to specific pages within the collection to display or edit.

Note: Sometimes Mahara will give a time-out (504 error) message. If this happens, just wait a few minutes and then click the back arrow of your browser twice to get back to Mahara. The copied collection should be under the Pages & Collection tab; collections will continue to copy even when Mahara times out. Check the collection to ensure it has all the pages from the original.

Outcome
