DeepThought: Integrations

Summary

Learn how to integrate USNH DeepThought with supported development tools, coding agents, and agentic AI frameworks. This article provides an overview of supported integrations, prerequisites, recommended tools, and links to step-by-step configuration guides.

Overview

USNH DeepThought integrates with a variety of development tools, coding agents, and agentic AI frameworks through its OpenAI-compatible API. These integrations enable developers to bring AI-powered assistance directly into their preferred development environment while keeping requests within the USNH environment.

Whether you prefer working in Visual Studio Code, the terminal, or with autonomous AI agents, DeepThought provides supported integration options for a range of development workflows.

Prerequisites

  • DeepThought Access: An active DeepThought account. Accounts are created by logging into DeepThought AI  at https://deepthought.usnh.edu
  • DeepThought API Key: Required for all integrations. API keys can be generated from the DeepThought Integrations page.
  • Supported Integration Tool: A supported IDE extension, coding agent, or agentic framework that is compatible with the OpenAI API Chat Completions endpoint and allows the API base URL to be customized.
  • Network Access Requirement: Must be connected to USNH GlobalProtect VPN or on-campus to access the DeepThought API

Recommended Plugins
