Summary
DeepThought chatbots offer two ways to upload documents, each with a different purpose.
-
For temporary document processing (e.g., summarizing, analyzing, editing), upload the document directly within the chat console.
Uploading Documents in the Chat Console
Documents uploaded directly into the chat are provided for a specific task. DeepThought analyzes the document and performs the action requested in your prompt.
Think of this as: "Work on this document."
To upload a document, click the + button in the chat input box or drag and drop a file into the chat console.
Important Considerations
Use this option when you want DeepThought to perform an action on a document, such as:
Uploading Documents in the Documents and Data Settings
Documents uploaded through Documents and Data become part of the chat's context or background knowledge and can be referenced throughout the conversation, using the information to inform its responses.
Think of this as: "Learn from this document and use it as context."
Steps for Adding Documents
-
Click the three dots (...) next to the chat name to bring up the Settings panel.
-
Select "Documents and Data".
-
Upload your files.
