Xtender: Import a Document from Banner

Summary

This tip is for anyone using Banner and the web version of Xtender, and who has the security to add documents to Xtender.

Documents can be manually added to Xtender in a couple different ways: either by scanning them directly into Xtender or by importing an electronic image. And the importing can happen either directly into Xtender, or from a Banner Admin page.

How-To

Task: Import a document into Xtender, from a Banner Admin page.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the appropriate Banner page and pull up the record that you would like to add a document to.
  2. Click the Add button.
  3. Xtender opens up and prompts you to log in.
  4. Log into Xtender.
  5. Once in Xtender, either drag and drop a document into the Xtender window, or use the Add Page button.
Note: You should only select more than file to import if the files will be combined into a single indexed document.
  6. Once the document has been imported, it is ready to be indexed.
  7. Notice that most of the index information is already filled in from the Banner record you were on.
  8. Enter any other required index information.
  9. Click the Save button.
  10. You can close the browser tab (without logging out of Xtender) to return to Banner.

Outcome

You should be able to import a document into Xtender, from a Banner Admin page.
