PSU Family Access Portal: Account Information

Summary

This article shows how a Plymouth State University student can create a Family Access Portal account for a family member, and how the family member can accept that invitation.

About Family Access

myPlymouth for Families

Due to federal (FERPA) laws, students are not allowed to share their USNH account information with anyone, including their family members. We understand that some parents require the ability to access some portions of their student's portal, so we've created what we call a "Family Access Portal". Through PSU's myPlymouth for Families students can grant family members access to their Bill Notification, Bill View, Enrollment Verification, Financial Aid, and give family members the ability to Purchase Campus Flexcash. Students can do this without sharing their personal USNH username and password or violating FERPA laws. MyPlymouth for Families provides the information family members need, all from their very own myPlymouth for Families account.

Bill Payment through Nelnet

The myPlymouth for Families account allows authorized family members to view the student's financial aid information and the itemized bill - however, bill payment is done through the Nelnet portal. This uses a separate account on the Nelnet website. Students invite family members as "Authorized Payers" in Nelnet in a similar manner to the myPlymouth for Families account, but these Nelnet accounts are separate from the myPlymouth for Families accounts.

  • Note: The ET&S Help Desk does not administer Nelnet accounts and cannot verify access or assist with account issues for the Nelnet site. For further assistance on bill payment account issues, call Nelnet directly at (800) 609-8056.

Permission to Discuss your Bill

In order for the PSU Student Financial Services office to discuss your bill with anyone except you, that person must have a myPlymouth for Families account in place that has been given access to Bill View.

Option A (left side). If you do not have an existing myPlymouth account, you can set up an account on the left-hand side using your email address, first and last name, and a unique password.

  • Your password must be at least 15 characters long.

Option B (right side). If you already have an existing myPlymouth account because you are a family member with a family access account (using the same email address) for another student, sign in with your existing family account's personal email address and password on the right-hand side

  • If you are a PSU employee, alumni, or current student, sign in with your USNH username (without the @usnh.edu) and regular USNH password.
