Licensing Amos

Summary

Newly installed SPSS Amos must be activated using the network concurrent license server. This article details how to activate your SPSS Amos.

Important: You will setup your computer to check in with a central license server on the network to obtain a license each time the program runs. This means that you must be connected to the VPN service whenever you use Amos. Detailed instructions for setting up the VPN can be found at GlobalProtect VPN: Installing GlobalProtect on a Personal Device. Once this license server is setup, though, you will not have to modify the configuration again for that version of Amos.

How-To

Task: To setup your computer to use the network concurrent license server.

Instructions

Step 1 - If not already running, launch the Amos License Authorization Wizard tool.  On Windows, we recommend you run this tool by right-clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator to make sure that the tool has the necessary access to save the changes made.

Step 2 - Proceed through it, clicking Next.

Step 3 - When prompted, select the Concurrent user license option and click Next.

Step 4 - Enter academic.unh.edu as the License Manager and continue through the rest of the tool.

Step 5 - At this point, Amos will check in with our license server each time you launch the program.  Just be sure to connect to the VPN network before you launch Amos.

Step 6 - Next Step: Using Amos

Outcome

You have successfully activated Amos with the network concurrent license server.
