How-To

Task: To turn the focused inbox on or off in Microsoft Outlook on the Web

Note: Focused Inbox is On by default.

Instructions

Step 1 - Select the settings Cog > View all Outlook settings

Step 2 - Make sure Mail is highlighted, and choose the layout tab

Step 3 - Under the focused inbox select if you would like your messages sorted​​​​​​

Outcome

 The Focused and Other tabs will appear/disappear at the top of your mailbox

Task: To change how your messages get organized in the focused inbox

Instructions

Step 1 - From your inbox, Right-click (Windows) / Control+click (MacOS) the message you want to sort differently

Step 2 - If moving a single message from choose Move >Move to Other/Focused inbox. Choose Always move to Other/Focused inbox if you want all future messages from the sender to be delivered to the Other/Focused tab. 

 

Outcome

You can move messages between the tabs and control future messages by sender.
