It acts as a visual aid that makes it easier to share and explain your ideas, which can make the entire process much easier and save time. Simple Storyboard

A storyboard should detail at least two aspects of your project: what the audience will be seeing on-screen, and what they will be hearing. Below is a simple storyboard that you can use to formulate a general outline for your story.

Advanced Storyboard

If you want to plan even more details before recording your footage, try this advanced storyboard. It features these additional fields:

  • Scene # - Where does this scene fall in the overall chronology of your project?
  • Location - It is a good idea to plan out where the shot will take place before you record it.
  • Approx. Time - Use this section if you would like to know how much of your project this scene will take up.
  • Audio - Make note of any audio happening in this scene, such as dialogue, sound effects, or music.
  • Visual - Describe what happens in this scene. What does the viewer see?
  • Script - Dialogue for this scene.
  • Actors - It is useful to note which actors you will need for each scene, so that you know who needs to be where during filming.
  • Props - Similar to the Actors section, except for props, costumes, and equipment.
