Canvas: How to manage access to Modules

This article describes how to control access to the course Modules.  You can publish your course but control when students have access to specific course content. 

Instructions:

Publish course Modules:

Manage your course content by publishing the Modules manually or have the accessibility be set to a specific date or by prerequisites.

  1.  Navigate to your course and select Modules.
  2. To the right of the specific Module heading, select the Settings icon and select Edit.
  3. Check the Lock until option.
  4. Click on the Calendar to select the date and time and select Done.
  5. Click on Update Module to save the setting.

Note:   The unlock date and time will appear in the Modules area at the bottom of the module. 

Outcome:

Users should expect to learn how to manage access to Modules in Canvas.
