Task: Positioning a Grand Total Block Relative to Prior Section
Instructions:
- Switch from Page Mode to Quick Display Mode. This will give you more room to work.
- Switch from Design with Data to Design - Structure Only. This makes it easier to see the end of your report.
- Highlight your section (not the section variable, but the actual section). This will show you where your section ends.
- Add a blank cell, a new table, or copy a table and paste it, below the section. In the example below, where the grand total equals 2, 416, a blank cell was used.
- Right-click on the table or single cell and select Format Table (or Cell).
- Click on Layout.
- Position the Left Edge relative to the report side.
- Position the Top Edge of the Total Table (or Cell) to the "Bottom Side of..." the last block before the section started. In the example below, the last block is the cell with the function "=ReportName()".
- Change the "Top Edge of this cell is "n" inches". Use "0" if you want it to start right after the section ends. In the example below, I have it starting 1/10th of an inch after the section.
- Apply your change and click "OK".
- Switch back to Design with Data.
- Switch back to Page Mode.
- Go to the last page of your report. Your new total block or cell should start below your section.
