Summary
This article will discuss the process of changing business units within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) for users that have access multiple Business Units (BU) or Departments.
How-To
Task: To change business units within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Some users within SFMC have access to more than one Business Unit within the application. For users that have access to multiple BUs it is important they ensure they are accessing the correct BU when looking for or approving content. Permissions within SFMC dictate that users can only see BU specific information when they are in the application under a specific BU. For example, if the user has access to Business Services and Student Services they will only be able to see content specific to Business Services when in the application under that BU, they would not be able to see content within Student Services.
SFMC retains the BU the user was last logged into when they close the application. The next time the user logs into SFMC the system will log them into the last BU they last accessed. To change the BU follow the instructions below:
Instructions
Step 1 - Once logged into SFMC use the drop down in the upper right.
Step 2 - From the list of Business Units select the needed Business Unit.
Step 3 - If users only have access to a single BU they will not see any other options listed.
Outcome
You have changed your Business Unit within the SFMC.
