Task: To create hyperlinks to internal site pages

When linking to pages within your website it is best to use the Linkit tool. This tool allows you to search for a specific page title, select it, and link to it. The following steps demonstrate this.

Instructions

Step 1 - Select the text you want to become the link

Step 2 - Click on the Linkit (Link to content) button

Step 3 - In the "Search for content." field start typing the title of the page you wish to link

Step 4 - Select the page - the Link URL (address) populates

Step 5 - Click on the INSERT LINK button.

Outcome

A hyperlink has been created to internal site websites.

To create hyperlinks to external websites

Task: To create hyperlinks to external websites

When linking to an external website (any site not your own) you can also use the Linkit tool. This tool allows you to specify the URL (address) to the external site and set the link to open in a new window. The following steps demonstrate this

Instructions

Step 1 - Select the text you want to become the link

Step 2 - Click on the Linkit (Link to content) button

Step 3 - In the "Link URL" field type in the full URL spec (this includes the https://)

Step 4 - Click on "Options," then the "Target" dropdown and select "New window (_blank)"

Step 5 - Click on the INSERT LINK button.

Outcome
