Summary
This article will talk about the use and functionality of the kiosk mode within Navigate. Kiosk Mode allows advising centers to incorporate a check in option for students to either enter in their Student ID or swipe their Student ID card to check them into a center or event.
How-To
For advising centers that provide Drop-in options the Kiosk function within Navigate allows those centers to set up a kiosk type computer where students can either enter in their IDs manually or swipe their ID to check them into a center. This allows students to check in for first available or specific advisors within the center.
For those teams on campus that may run events through the course of the year to which they want to capture attendance, they can use the Kiosk mode to do so. Behind the scenes the administrators can create a service that allows for swipe check in, this way as students enter the event they can swipe their ID card, the system records their attendance and it can then be reported.
Best Practice: Ensure the Browsers option to Save Passwords or Save Autofill information is turned off.

Step 2 - Then select Kiosk

Step 3 - Ensure the Term is correct for the Kiosk
Step 4 - From the list of locations, choose the location to which you want to use the Kiosk

Step 6 - Select the service you would like to run
- If there are more than a single service for this location the system will allow the user to start the kiosk for "All Services"
Step 7 - The system is now set up to record students checking in for that location and service

Step 8 - If All Services is selected the student upon submitting their ID will be prompt to select the service they want

Step 9 - If the Center has a Drop-in option and the student selects that they will be presented with the following screen.

Step 10 - Choose to "Wait For a Specific Person" the student will then be presented with a list of advisors that have Availability set up for this time frame.
NOTE: The system will only show advisors that have availability for the specific time frame to which the student is attempting to check in
Step 11 - Choose to "Wait for the First Available Person" this will drop the student into a queue and any advisor with "Drop-in" availability will be notified by the system that a student is waiting for the first available advisor.

Checking Students into an Event
Task: To Use the Kiosk for Checking Students into an Event

When using the system to check into an event, multiple computers can be used in order to limit wait times for check-in. Each computer used will need a different user to sign into mWS. The system prevents simultaneous log-ins by the same user.
