UNH Canvas - Enabling Canvas Credential by Instructure

Task: This article explains how to enable Canvas Credential in your Canvas course. Credential can be used for digital badges. A digital badge (Micro credential) is an electronic representation of a skill, achievement, or experience. ​

Instructions:

 

Enable Credential:

  1. Log in to your Canvas course
  2. Scroll down to SETTINGS
  3. Click on NAVIGATION
  4. Scroll to the bottom grouping that is HIDDEN
  5. Find CREDENTIALS and enable by clicking the 3 dots
  6. Click SAVE

 

Canvas Homepage

  1. Authorize access to CREDENTIALS
  2. Review HOMEPAGE (Progress, Credentials and Pathway progress, and Learner Progress)

 

Badge to Module/Assignment Setup

  1. Select MANAGE BADGES on Homepage of Setup Tab
  2. Select CANVAS COURSE BADGES Tab
  3. Choose the DESIRED BADGE based on Module and/or Assignments preference and trigger preference (Percentage score, or complete item)
  4. Click SAVE
     

Resources:

While Canvas Credential is open and available for the university to use, you must have an account issued in order to access. Additionally, badges have to be created by the UNH Micro-Credentialing unit. Click here to submit an access or badge creation request.
