This article provides answers to frequently asked questions about your USNH Outlook email account and associated email addresses.
Each member of the USNH faculty, staff, and student body is issued an Outlook email account to be used for official USNH communications, configuring Canvas accounts, and other associated applications such as Zoom, Teams, OneDrive, Qualtrics, Kaltura, Turnitin, Chalk & Wire, etc.

Q1. What is my USNH email address?
- For most people, your USNH email address is of the form: FirstName.LastName@campus.edu
- For example, pat.doe@keene.edu or john.doe@plymouth.edu.
- USNH Campus addresses:
- KSC: FirstName.LastName@keene.edu
- PSU: FirstName.LastName@plymouth.edu
- UNH: FirstName.LastName@unh.edu
- UNH Law: FirstName.LastName@law.unh.edu
- USNH System Office: FirstName.LastName@usnh.edu
- Some people may have a slight variation on this norm. For example (this list is not all the possibilities):
- If someone else has a similar name to yours, there may be a number after your LastName. For example: pat.doe1@unh.edu

Q2. How do I access my USNH email account?

- Access your USNH campus email Outlook account
- Click on your name in the upper right corner of the window.
- Note: You may see your username@usnh.edu, but that is NOT your email address. It is your "fully qualified username" which serves as a unique identifier for you within all the USNH institutions.
- Select View account.
- A new window opens displaying all your account information including your email address.

Q4. Why do I have more than one email address?
- Everyone has a primary email address that is associated with their primary or home campus within USNH. As discussed in Question 1 above, your primary email address is usually of the form: FirstName.LastName@campus.edu
- You may also have another email addresses called an email alias. If you are affiliated with multiple institutions within USNH, you may have multiple alias email addresses.
- If your first or last name changes, a new email address alias can be created for you.

Q5. What if someone sends me email to an alias email address that I am not checking?
- You have one root email address and one or more alias email addresses, but only one Outlook email account. All your email is directed to your one Outlook email account no matter which of your email addresses are used.

Q6. Why is my root email address displayed in Canvas?
- Your root email address (username@campus.edu) is the default email address in Canvas.
- Your root email address is the unique identifier between and among affiliated applications such as Zoom, Kaltura, and Chalk & Wire. If you change the default email address in Canvas you lose access to these affiliated applications and your work created within them.
Note: Do NOT change your default email address in Canvas.
