Student Notifications
Depending on how often optional notification settings are chosen, and amount of Gradescope assignments in a course, a student may receive many email notifications during a semester.
- Except for online assignments, students receive automated notifications from Gradescope when they successfully submit a homework assignment. There is no way for a student to disable this since these serve as evidence that the file was submitted successfully. The recommended workaround is setting a filter in their email inbox from "no-reply@gradescope.com".
- There is an optional setting for instructors to send a notification when a student is added to a course in Gradescope.
- There is an optional setting for instructors to send a notification after grades for an assignment have been posted in Gradescope.
- For students using the mobile app, there are submission reminder settings that cannot be turned off. The recommended workaround is turning off all notifications for the app.
Note: Canvas contains no way of controlling Gradescope notifications.
Faculty Notifications
For faculty, there are regrade request email notification options in the Gradescope account settings. Faculty may choose one of the following:
- All Regrade Requests - Receive an email notification for every regrade request.
- Only Submissions You've Graded - Receive an email notification for just submissions you have graded.
- No Regrade Request Notifications - Don't receive any email notifications for regrade requests.
