The purpose of this article is to walk you through creating a Power Automate Flow. This Flow will generate an email notification when someone uploads a file to a folder that you have shared with them from your personal OneDrive. This applies to anyone using Power Automate to manage email alerts on their shared folders. If you share a OneDrive folder with someone else and you want to know if/when they have added a file to it via email notification, this article is for you.

Step 11 - Search for "Send me an email notification" and click on "Send me an email notification" to add the action to your flow.

Select the dynamic content that you would like to display in your notification such as the name of the file being uploaded or the file path to show you where the file was uploaded to. Repeat this for the text in the Body. To make more sense of it, you can add text between the dynamic content objects as appears below.

Step 13 - Click "Save"

Step 14 - Wait 15 minutes for the flow to start working. By default, the Flow will be on immediately after creation.

Outcome

After you have shared a folder with someone else for them to upload files to from your personal OneDrive, and you have created this flow targeting that folder, when that person uploads a file to this folder, you will receive an email notification within 1 - 10 minutes.
