This article provides instructions for attaching a hardware asset to a TeamDynamix ticket.

In order to perform this function, you will need to be assigned the Team Member role or higher in the TDx Hardware Asset application. If you have not already been assigned these permissions, please reach out to the Asset Management team to request this role.

Task: Attaching a hardware asset to a TeamDynamix ticket

Instructions

Step 1 - With the ticket open in the TeamDynamix application, click on the ‘Assets/ CIs’ tab:

Step 2 - Click the button that says ‘+Assets/CIs’:

Step 3 - A search box will appear. Click the magnifying glass icon to open the Advanced Search window:

Step 4 - After clicking the magnifying glass, an Advanced Search window with searchable fields will open:

Step 5 - Devices for which the client is the designated Owner will pop up at the bottom of the search window; click the check box next to the appropriate asset and then hit the ‘Insert Checked’ button to add it to the ticket.

If the asset did not populate at the bottom of the search window, type the device Name or Serial Number in the ‘Search’ field, clear out the user's name from the User field, and then hit the ‘Searchbutton in the upper left corner:

A list of matching assets will populate below the search fields. To select the correct asset, click the check box to the left of the Asset, then click the ‘Insert Checked’ button at the top of the window:

Step 6 - After selecting your asset, click the ‘Save’ button to add the asset to the TDx ticket:

Step 7 - You have successfully added the hardware asset to the TDx ticket:

Note: If you made a mistake and need to remove an asset from a ticket in TeamDynamix, click the ‘Remove’ link next to the asset information in the ‘Assets/CIs’ tab.

 

Outcome

Your hardware asset has successfully been added to the ticket in TeamDynamix.
