This article will outline many of the new User Interface (UI) changes that are in Blue 9 from Blue 8.  USNH has recently updated out application and you will notice changes to the UI.

From Blue 8 to Blue 9 there are several changes to the User Interface (UI) that users should be aware.  Blue still functions the same as it did with some enhancements but the look and feel is much different than it was.  The information below will provide insight to some of these changes.

Students and Faculty should not see much of a difference outside of their homepage.  Most of the UI changes outside of the Homepage are within the Data Integrety Gateway (DIG) which only a select few users have access.

Blue 9 Homepage:

Blue 9 Homepage

  1.     Search bar - Allows you to perform a keyword search to locate a specific task or report.
  2.     Home - Directs you to Blue home.  
    1. Tasks - Directs you to a new page displaying all of your tasks.  
    2. Reports - Directs you to a new page displaying all of your reports.            
    3. Bookmarks - Directs you to a separate page displaying all of your bookmarked tasks and reports.
  3.     Apps launcher - Contains access to the homepage, the help center, and different administration pages (only for administrator).
    1.         Home - Directs you to the homepage to access all your tasks and reports.
    2.         Blue administration - Directs you to the Blue administration page to configure projects and reports.
    3.         System administration - Directs you to the System administration page to configure system settings.
    4.         Home administration - Directs you to the Home administration page to customize the homepage.
    5.         Help center - Directs you to the Blue online help center.
  4.     My profile - Displays your name and avatar used in Blue.
    1.         My account - Allows you to configure account settings such as display name and image, email address, and password.
    2.         Language - Set your preferred language.
    3.         Help - Directs you to the Blue Online Help Center homepage.
    4.         Sign out - Ends your session.
  5.     Task progress overview - Displays the number of tasks that have been completed. The status can be Open (not yet started), In Progress (started but incomplete), or Completed (submitted and nothing left to do).
  6.     Response rate monitor launcher - Launches a new page for the user to access the response rate monitor. To learn more, see View the Response Rate Monitor.
  7.     Blue dashboard launcher - Launches a new page for the user to access the Blue dashboard. To learn more, see Blue Dashboard (Overview).
  8.     My bookmarks - Displays a widget of all bookmarked tasks and reports.
  9.     My tasks - Displays a widget of tasks.
  10.     My reports - Displays a widget of reports.

Blue 9 DIG Page:

  1. Alerts - This column will contain an "eye" icon to identify the last row the user worked on
  2. Status - Shows the user if the row has been modified at all or if the row is in the original format from when the DIG was created.  Original = no changes
  3. Group - See the number of Instructors and Students in a course
    1. Modify Instructors or students right in the grid view
    2. Use the ellipse to expand/collapse all Instructors or Students in a course to see their names displayed right in the grid view
  4. Columns Manager - In Blue 9 users now have the ability to customize columns present on screen in order to view the information you are most interested
    1. Note some columns are required/locked and can not be removed
  5. Reset Display Settings - Use this icon in order to reset the columns back to factory default
  6. Cross-listed ID - Users can now paste directly into this field in the grid view
