Summary
This article is for those interested in unlinking on un-associating their Zoom accounts in order to create a new independent account as part of the Zoom to Teams Meetings transition. This will allow you to continue on with a Zoom account and is especially useful for those intending to purchase Zoom licenses into the future (post July 2025) prior to the July 2025 changeover date from Zoom to Microsoft Teams.

Task: Users will be able to unlink or un-associate their Zoom accounts prior to the larger shift in de-provisioning Zoom licenses.
Instructions
Follow these steps to create an account.
1. Log out of their current Zoom sessions

Go to zoom.com

Click the Sign Up Free button in the upper right of the screen

Verify your birth year

Enter your UNH/Keene/Plymouth State email address <username>@<institution>.edu

Institution should be unh, keene or plymouth

your username is usually initials of your name followed by some numbers

Note this is important to pull over existing meetings, settings, and other associated materials

Verify account through email verification

Zoom will send an email with a six digit code

This code may go through to an unanticipated email folder, be sure to check your junk or spam folders.

Create password

Click the link in "Or, go to my account settings", below the Download Zoom button

This will bring you to the normal Zoom account page and they will still be part of the UNH/Plymouth State/Keene account until they complete the next set of steps.

If you do not see the page described above but see Account Profile you may already be on the correct page and can proceed to the next steps below.

Click on Account Profile in the lower left

Scroll down and find the Unassociate and create new account button please click that button.

You should now see a Confirmation message that states "Are you sure to unassociate and create your own account?"
Click Yes on this page.

Your account is now moved
Lastly, if there is a user who has left an institutional account and then uses UNH/Keene/Plymouth State SSO to log back, they will be prompted to move their account back into the institutional Zoom account, once they re-join they will receive a Basic Zoom license.
Outcome
Users will be able to unlink their accounts if they need to to create Zoom accounts for needs anytime beginning May 2025 into the future.
