Course Navigation Improvements

The course navigation page is updated.

  • Dragged items are highlighted with a blue fill and border instead of gray, consistent with keyboard-based reordering.
  • Items can be reordered using the keyboard: select an item, press Space to start moving it, use the Up/Down arrows to reposition, and press Space again to drop it or Esc to cancel.
  • While dragging with the keyboard, Tab and Shift+Tab do not change the selection. Only one item can be moved at a time, so this does not affect functionality.

Enhanced Rubrics

Canvas's Enhanced Rubrics feature streamlines grading and deepens student engagement by offering a more flexible and intuitive rubric builder, improved SpeedGrader integration, and support for self-assessment. Instructors can create, edit, and share rubrics more easily with drag-and-drop tools, CSV import/export, and cross-course sharing, while students benefit from the ability to reflect on their work using the same rubric criteria. These updates promote consistency, transparency, and active learning,  Enhanced Rubrics became available Spring 2026 to faculty. Read more about Enhanced Rubrics.
