Body

Setting Your Booking Page Language and Time zone in Microsoft Bookings

Purpose

This article explains how to configure the language and time zone settings for your Microsoft Bookings page and why enabling “Always show time slots in business time zone” is recommended. These settings help ensure that appointment times are displayed consistently for both staff and customers, reducing confusion and missed meetings.

Audience

USNH faculty, staff, and service owners using Microsoft Bookings to schedule appointments.

Steps to Set Language and Timezone

  1. Open Microsoft Bookings

    • Go to Microsoft Bookings and sign in with your USNH credentials.
  2. Navigate to Booking Page Settings

    • In the left-hand menu, select “Booking page”.
  3. Set Language and Timezone

    • Scroll to the “Region and time zone settings” section.
    • Choose your preferred language (e.g., English - United States).
    • Set the time zone to match your business hours (e.g., Eastern Time (US & Canada)).
  4. Enable “Always show time slots in business time zone”

    • Check the box labeled “Always show time slots in business time zone”.
    • Click Save at the top of the page.

Why These Settings Matter

Language

  • Ensures that the booking interface, confirmation emails, and calendar invites are displayed in a language your clients understand.
  • Helps maintain a professional and consistent experience across departments.

🕒 Timezone

  • Aligns your booking calendar with your actual working hours.
  • Prevents appointments from being booked outside of business hours due to timezone mismatches.

📌 “Always show time slots in business time zone”

  • Forces the booking page to display time slots in your business’s timezone, regardless of the customer’s location or device settings.
  • Prevents confusion when clients are in different time zones or traveling.
  • Ensures that both staff and clients see the same appointment time, reducing missed or misaligned meetings.

Example Scenario

A staff member in Concord, NH sets their business hours to 9 AM–5 PM Eastern Time. Without enabling “Always show time slots in business time zone,” a client in California might see available slots as 6 AM–2 PM Pacific Time, leading to confusion. Enabling the setting ensures both parties see 9 AM–5 PM Eastern Time.
