Co-managed devices that are Domain Joined (Hybrid devices) can have Remote Desktop Users added to the local Remote Desktop Users group using the following instructions.  A technician may do this for a user when the user needs to create a Remote Desktop connection to their device.

Co-managed devices that are Domain Joined (Hybrid devices) can have Remote Desktop Users added to the local Remote Desktop Users group using the following instructions.  A technician may do this for a user when the user needs to create a Remote Desktop connection to their device.

Task: Add Remote Desktop User to Domain Joined device

Instructions

Step 1 - Search for or right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator using your adm_account@usnh.edu

Step 2 - Type: 

net localgroup "Remote Desktop Users" /add "ad\<username>” 

with quotation marks and replacing <username> with the user's username.

Step 3 - Press Enter to run the command.

Step 4 - Close the command prompt and reboot

 

Outcome

The user should now be able to create a Remote Desktop connection to their device because they are now a member of the local Remote Desktop Users group.
