MS Teams: How to Record and Manage Name Pronunciation in M365

How-To

Task: Add your name pronunciation

 

Instructions

  1. Open your profile card:
    • In Teams, click on your profile picture on the top right to open the panel. Then click your name to open your full profile card.
  2. Select the microphone icon next to your name.
  3. In the recording window, select the microphone button to begin recording.
    • Maximum recording length: 10 seconds 
  4. Select the microphone button again to stop.
  5. Choose to Save, Preview, or Retake the recording.
  6. Once saved, your profile card updates immediately.

 

Outcome

Your name pronunciation is recorded. 

 

Task: Change or delete your name pronunciation

 

Instructions

  1. Open your profile card:
    • In Teams, click on your profile picture on the top right to open the panel. Then click your name to open your full profile card.
  2. Select the speaker icon next to your name to play or manage your recording.
  3. To delete:
    • Select the trash icon.
    • Confirm by selecting Yes, delete
  4. To record a new pronunciation, select the microphone icon again and follow the steps above.

 

Outcome

Your name pronunciation is either updated or deleted.
