Summary
This article shows how to install applications using the Company Portal app on USNH MacOS workstations managed by Microsoft Intune.
Background
During Spring 2026, ET&S is migrating USNH managed MacOS devices from the old JAMF management system to Microsoft Intune instead.
When your MacOS computer is migrated, the old JAMF "Self Service" app will be replaced by the "Company Portal" app for installing and updating software on your computer. Company Portal is a secure application that provides access to institution approved software, device compliance details, and support resources through a modern, easy to use interface. This transition will also introduce automatic application updates for many tools, replacing the manual, user initiated updates previously required in JAMF Self Service.
How-To
Task: Install New Software from Company portal on MacOS.
Instructions
Step 1 - Find “Company Portal” in the Applications folder on your MacOS computer.

Step 2 - Click "Sign in" and sign into Company Portal with your usual USNH username, password, and MFA if required.

Step 3 - Click “Apps” at the top of the Window

Step 4 - Find or search for the application you want to install and click on the application's name.
Step 5 - Click “Install” on the application's information page. This example shows "RStudio" with the "Install" button.

Step 6 - The App you chose will be installed on your computer after the next sync. This may take a few minutes.
Step 7 - After the installation is complete, you can find the app in the Applications folder on your Mac.

You will be able to use Company Portal to install applications on your managed workstation.
