Summary
This article outlines how to request access to commercial AI models (such as Claude) within DeepThought, when your use case requires capabilities beyond the default models.
Available Models
DeepThought’s default model is Llama-3.1, which is best suited for basic tasks.
The following models are available by default within DeepThought:
a. Llama-3.1 – Fastest model; best for basic tasks
b. Llama-3.2-Vision – Supports image analysis
c. Llama-3.3 – Best for general conversation and writing tasks
d. Qwen-3-A3B – Optimized for technical and programming tasks
e. Qwen-3-32B – Best for advanced reasoning and analytics
If your use case requires capabilities beyond these models, you may request access to a commercial AI model.
Funding
Limited funding is available for use cases that require access to commercial AI models (e.g., Claude). There is currently no cost to departments for approved usage, and usage is being monitored. If future costs need to be allocated based on consumption and demand, additional communication and guidance will be provided in advance.
For high-usage scenarios, users may establish their own account, and Research Computing can assist with integration options.
