To Know:
Microsoft recently introduced the Microsoft Education LTI, which consolidates Microsoft learning tools and Canvas integrations into a single experience. This new integration replaces older tools such as the Microsoft OneDrive LTI and Class Notebook in Canvas and expands access to Microsoft 365 content and collaboration tools within Canvas. It replaces the classic Microsoft OneDrive LTI in Canvas, which will be retired on September 17, 2026. Content will break if you leverage the OneDrive LTI on or after September 17th, 2026.
To Do:
- Review your course workflows if you use OneDrive LTI, Class Notebook, or Office 365 integrations in Canvas.
- Begin using the Microsoft Education LTI for new content and activities.
- Re-link or re-embed any existing OneDrive LTI content before September 17, 2026.
