Classroom classification
ALL Paul College Classrooms can only use the installed iClicker system with the podium-installed PC or Mac. If someone wants to use their laptop with iClicker in a Paul classroom, they will need to bring their own iClicker base station which is reserved and picked up at the ATSC (2-2525) on the third floor of Dimond Library. This loaner base station will be set to the default frequency of "AA" and will need to be configured within the iClicker software on the client's laptop.
ALL NON-Paul College SuperTEC (Installed PC & Mac) Classrooms can use the installed iClicker system with a laptop OR the podium-installed PC or Mac. To connect a laptop to the iClicker system in a SuperTEC classroom, connect the laptop to the USB cable labeled "iClicker" which is coming out of the podium next to the VGA and HDMI laptop cables. If this USB cable is not visible, it may have fallen back into the podium and will need to be opened and retrieved by a supervisor with podium access keys. The frequency needed for using a laptop with the installed iClicker system will be on a printed sheet taped to the wall behind the instructor's station. ALL NON-Paul College, NON-SuperTEC (Laptop hookup and DVD/VHS Players only) Classrooms MUST use the installed iClicker system with a laptop, as there are no installed computers. To connect a laptop to the iClicker system in a LaRC or TEC classroom, connect one end of the USB cable (Supplied by the ATSC during in-person training) to the laptop, and the other end to the provided iClicker USB Input plate on the wall, mounted usually around knee-level. The frequency needed for using a laptop with the installed iClicker system will be on a printed sheet taped to the wall behind the instructor's station. iClicker Resources
iClicker software support is handled over the phone by the ATSC by calling 2-2525.
iClicker training is conducted in person by the ATSC (2-2525) on the third floor of Dimond Library. Professors are given a thumb drive with the iClicker software on it, as well as one instructor iClicker device.
AV Services is responsible for the installed in-classroom iClicker hardware only. This means that if the installed iClicker receiver box or associated cables are physically damaged or disconnected, we are responsible for replacing or fixing it. These replacements will be done by the full time AV tech staff once the classroom is available. Create a Team Dynamics ticket with all relevant information in the ticket notes and alert your supervisor.
