The University System of New Hampshire (USNH) licenses and supports a large variety of software for use by students, faculty and staff.
Some of this software is provided free of charge to current faculty, staff and students as allowed by our licensing agreements. The most used applications are as follows:
Microsoft 365 Applications and Services
Microsoft 365 is available to all faculty, staff, and students, both on and off campus. The suite includes a range of productivity tools and cloud services, including:
- Microsoft OneDrive (cloud file storage and sharing)
- Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook)
- Microsoft Teams (chat, meetings, collaboration)
- Microsoft Sharepoint (intranet and document management)
Additional tools, such as Microsoft Access, may be available depending on your device and licensing.
Adobe Express
Effective September 29, 2025, Adobe Express on Web (a cloud based version of the popular Adobe Suite of applications) will be available to all USNH faculty, staff, and students, both on and off campus. Adobe Express on the Web includes basic editing tools and limited assets:
- Templates: Access to 100,000+ static and video templates
- Assets: 1M+ royalty-free Adobe Stock photos, videos, music tracks, and design elements2
- Fonts: Access to 4,000+ fonts from the Adobe Fonts collection.
- Editing tools: Standard photo, video, and document editing tools
- Content scheduling: Plan and schedule posts to 1 account per social network
- Version history: 10 days
- Storage: 5GB
- Devices: Works on desktop browsers and mobile phones

Additional Software
Some software may only be installed on a USNH-managed computers assigned to faculty and staff. Many of these can be installed on USNH managed devices without assistance through the Self Service app in MacOS and Company Portal app for MacOS and Windows.
ET&S enforces updates on all USNH managed devices to ensure they remain safe by applying all operating system updates, security patches, and application updates in compliance with USNH Endpoint Management Standards.

Request/Purchase Additional Licensing
Some software may only be available by request and in most cases may only be installed on a USNH-managed computers assigned to employees. Please be aware that for some software, the requesting department will be responsible for current and recurring license costs, if applicable. The most commonly requested applications are as follows:
Microsoft Licenses
- CoPilot ($220 year/user) - Provides integration with Office Apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) to provide A.I. Assistance.
- Project/Planner Premium for desktop*
- Teams Premium* - Ideal for users looking to get intelligent meeting recaps.
- Visio*

Other Licenses
- Adobe Acrobat Sign - available to active faculty/staff
- Adobe Desktop Client (Adobe Creative Cloud suite) - available to active faculty/staff only with demonstrated business need and supervisor approval
- Avaya Workpace (Softphone)
- NVivo
