The Policy & Risk Management department is responsible for the development of System-wide financial policy and procedures and provides leadership in liability reduction efforts, including management of the insurance program. We operate with a goal of protecting USNH against losses through the development of clear policies, identification and evaluation of potential risks, and the review of alternatives to reduce those risks.

Below are some services we support in this area:

• Policy development, maintenance, and communication
• Locating relevant policy and procedure guidance
• Annual review of insurance program, acquisition of all types of liability insurance, and management of relationships with insurance brokers and carriers
• Reporting incidents, accidents, or issues which might result in a claim against USNH and managing claims with the insurance carrier.
• Serve as a resource for risk management and loss control information.
• Issue insurance certificates (proof of USNH coverage and limits)
• Motor Vehicle Record checks and oversight of driver training program for student drivers
