Accounts: UNH Pool Account Password Reset Instructions (ETS Internal)

Summary

A Pool Account is an account that is used primarily by UNH Work Study Students for access to UNH resources. The specific process for a Pool Account password change is described below.

Scenario 1 - Change Password

If the Pool Account holder already knows their password, they will just need to be directed to the following URL to the usual password change tool:

https://myaccount.microsoft.com

They change their pool account password using the same process as for their personal account, but with the pool account fully qualified username (pl_username@usnh.edu) instead, like pl_UNH_donutlab03@usnh.edu (not a real username, btw).

Scenario 2 - Reset Password

If the Pool account holder does not know their Pool Account password, follow these steps below:

Step 1 - Verify identity of caller. They will need to be either the Guardian or the Pool Account Assignee.

Step 2 - Add the user's password recovery email to the account's Authentication Methods in azure if needed.

Step 3 - Direct the caller to https://myaccount.microsoft.com

Step 4 - Have them click on the "Can’t access your account?" link, below the "Email or phone" field.

They reset their pool account password using the same process as for their personal account, but with the pool account fully qualified username (pl_username@usnh.edu) instead, like pl_UNH_donutlab03@usnh.edu (not a real username, btw).
