Installed Windows (SuperTEC Classrooms) Troubleshooting

No Video on monitor or projector from installed computer

If classroom computer's monitor is ON but screen is black, the computer may be asleep and must be "awakened" by hitting the spacebar on the keyboard.

If this doesn't wake up the computer, it may be off. Power on the computer using the labeled Power button on the front of the computer inside the AV equipment rack or podium.

If this issue is in a Paul College classroom, and there is no display or the display is frozen, the issue may be the USB connection at the back of the monitor. To fix this, the monitor should be carefully leaned forward off of its rest on the podium, and the black USB connection in the back of the monitor should be unplugged and then plugged back in. This should restart the connection and fix the issue.

USB Connection is not working

If using the provided USB hub, ensure you are plugging into the correct hub (labeled PC and Mac). If your device is not detected when plugged in, unplug the cables in the back of the hub and plug them back in to reset it. Still not working? Use the other installed USB hub and computer to open your files. USB's can also be plugged directly into the PC or Mac in the rack or cabinet below the podium. In some classrooms the rack may be off to the side (MUB theaters, for example).

Classroom computer has no network connection

Check that all cables are connected tightly into computer and the wall.
Check that the classroom computer's network cable is actually connected to the 1st wall port. Sometimes instructors unplug the cable to connect their laptop to the network using that port (as described above) and then forget to reconnect the PC when finished teaching.

The computer’s network cable could be plugged into the 2nd port that may not be activated. Plug the cable into the other port in the wall to see if it works. If possible, replace ethernet cable. If connection problem is not resolved, the port may have become deactivated. Alert supervisor who will contact the Technology Help Desk with information about the port that is not working.
