Overflow and PIP Instructions

Overflow is controlled by the touch panels in Master Control 1. In order for overflow or PIP overflow to function properly, the user must setup the overflow configurations on the touch panels in MCR and start the audiovisual systems and configure all classrooms involved. The following instructions are how to setup the touch panel for overflow.

Overflowing the content, content audio and microphone audio from one classroom to another classroom or multiple classrooms.

Using one of the touch panels in MCR the user will need to select the Overflow tab at the top of the screen.

Next, the user will first select the Origination room and then the Destination room or rooms at the bottom of the screen. To clear a selection, the user must first select Clear Control and then the destination room they wish to disable overflow.

This is essentially selecting an input on an audio matrix switcher and telling it to route the sound to any number of outputs. Two different overflow configurations can be done simultaneously*

To complete the overflow configuration the user will then start the audiovisual system in the Origination room and then start the audiovisual system in the Destination room(s). In the Destination room, the user must select MCR as the source for content video, content audio and microphone audio to work properly.

Note that content audio and microphone audio only work in an Overflow configuration. The way the system was designed it is not able to make input and output selections from the PIP configuration menu. It is believed to be a programming error.

In order to overflow content audio and microphone audio to another room using a PIP configuration the matrix switcher needs to be manually set to the correct inputs and outputs.

Overflowing content video, content audio, camera video and microphone audio in multiple Picture-in-Picture configurations or displaying camera video WITHOUT content audio and/or microphone audio.

In its current setup, it is only possible to overflow content audio and microphone audio to another classroom using one of the four PIP configurations if an Audiovisual Technical Services professional manually changes the inputs and outputs on the audio matrix switcher manually.

To configure one of four different PIP configurations the user must select the Overflow Config tab at the top of the touch panel.

To configure the PIP overflow, first select the Origination room then select either Camera, Source, Source/Cam PIP or Dual Cam/Source at the bottom of the touch panel in the PIP 1 menu. You can create up to two PIP configurations. After the desired display is selected, there is a "Take" button above the four display buttons that must be selected in order for the configuration to be saved.

You will know the configuration is saved when the top left corner of PIP 1 says "Origin: G75" or the room you select as the Origin.

To remove a PIP configuration, first select Clear Control, and then the "Take" button. *Note the take button will mirror the last display button that was saved.

To overflow the PIP configuration to another room, select the Overflow tab at the top of the touch panel.
