PSU - Making an Image a Hyperlink in Mahara ePortfolios

How-To

Task: Make an image a hyperlink on an ePortfolio page.

 

Instructions

Step 1 - Click on Main Menu in the upper right side of the dashboard page, as indicated by horizontal lines.

Step 2 - Click on the down arrow next to "Create"

Step 3 - Click on Pages and Collections

Step 4 - Click on the title of the page you want to edit.

Step 5 - Click the pencil icon to enter edit mode.

Step 6 - Drag and drop the Note block onto the portfolio page. The Note block is found under "General" on the block type menu on the left of the screen.

Step 7 - Under "Block Content," click the down arrow to toggle the text-editor toolbar on.

Step 8 - Click the picture in a frame button to insert an image. A window will open allowing you to get your image from a URL or from your computer.

Step 9 - Choose the image you want by clicking the check mark to the right of the image's name.

Step 10 - Click Image Formatting Options

Step 11 - Modify the width of the image as desired. Then click Submit.

Step 12 - The image will appear in the text box. Click on the image to select it. Then, click the link button (looks like a chain).

Step 13 - In the URL field, paste the URL of the page you'd like to link to

Step 14 - Click OK

Step 15 - Turn off comments by clicking No

Step 16 - Click Save.

Step 17 - To test the link, click Display Page under the page title.

 

Outcome

Users will be able to make an image a hyperlink in a Mahara ePortfolio.
