PSU - Using the Profile and Profile Picture in Mahara

This article explains the basic features of the Profile and profile picture options in Mahara. This article will be helpful to PSU faculty looking to customize their Mahara Profile.

Profile

The Profile has four sub-tabs:

About Me

The About Me sub-tab is where your name is automatically populated into the first and last name fields. If you would like, you can enter a display name on this tab. There is also a place to write a brief introduction about yourself. Make sure your introduction is professional as all of the PSU community can see this information.

Contact Information

The Contact Information sub-tab is where you can enter information such as a professional website, blog address, business telephone number, and fax number. Remember that all of PSU can see this information.

Social Media

The Social Media sub-tab is where you can enter professional social media accounts. Some of the social media you can select include Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram.

General

The General sub-tab is where you can name your occupation and industry.

Profile Picture

Under the Profile Picture, you can upload, delete, or set up a default profile picture.

Setting up a Default Profile Picture

Under the default column, click the radio button next to the picture you would like to set as your profile picture. Click "Set Default" to save your choice.

Deleting a Profile Picture

Under the delete column, click the square button next to the picture(s) you would like to delete. Click "Delete selected profile pictures" to delete to picture(s).

Uploading a Profile Picture

Click "Choose File." This will take you out to your computer. Select the image you would like for the profile picture by clicking on the image file and then clicking "Open." You will be returned to the profile picture screen; the name of your file should display next to "Choose File." Click "Upload" to upload your selected image.
