Task: Add a LinkedIn profile onto Mahara

 

Instructions

There are a number of ways to insert your LinkedIn Profile.

 

Use the Note block if you want people to go to your LinkedIn profile page:

Step 1 - Once in edit mode, click on General

Step 2 - Drag and drop the Note block to the location you want it to be placed or click Note block and select the cell (column) and position to place the block then click the Add button. Configuration window will open.

Step 3 - Change or remove the block title

Step 4 - You can set up a link by itself or a link on a picture

Link by itself:

  1. Copy your LinkedIn profile URL
  2. Either type text such as LinkedIn Profile or paste the URL in block content
  3. Highlight text or URL link
  4. Click chain (hyperlink) icon to the right of the numbered list icon
  5. Paste URL if it is not already present
  6. Change target field to new window
  7. Click OK button

Link on a picture:

  1. Insert a image of your LinkedIn profile
  2. Click on the picture icon
  3. While picture is highlighted, click the chain (hyperlink) icon to the right of the numbered list icon
  4. Paste URL is not already present
  5. Change target field to new window
  6. Click OK button

Step 5 - Click Allow Comments to No

Step 6 - Click the Save button

 

Use the Image or PDF block if you want people to just see a picture of your LinkedIn profile:

Step 1 - After saving you LinkedIn profile page as either a PDF or image file (png, jpeg), perform one of the following

Set up as a PDF block:

  1. Once in edit mode, click on Media
  2. Drag and drop the PDF block to the location you want it to be placed or click PDF block and select the cell (column) and position to place the block then click the Add button
  3. Configuration window will open
  4. Change or remove the block title
  5. Click on the File title, upload PDF file or select uploaded PDF file
  6. Click the Save button

Set up as an image block:

  1. Once in edit mode, drag and drop the Image block to the location you want it to be placed or click Image block and select the cell (column) and position to place the block then click the Add button
  2. Configuration window will open
  3. Change or remove the block title
  4. Click on the Image title, upload PDF file or select uploaded PDF file
  5. Click the Save button

 

Outcome

Users should be able to add their LinkedIn profile onto Mahara.
