IMPORTANT: Existing users will need to create an account directly with the vendor to access JMP v18. Any previous licensing expired 1/13/2025 and will no longer work after that date.
JMP is an academic software that is used for exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and graphical representation of data. This article details how to install JMP on your personal devices for both Windows and MacOS users.
JMP® Student Edition includes all features available in JMP and JMP Pro. For an overview, visit JMP FAQ's
JMP no longer offers any versions except the student edition for usage.
Prerequisites- A JMP account will need to be created. You will need to create this using your username@usnh.edu email address.
The account creation CANNOT be completed within the software and must be completed through the JMP Student Portal

Task: Installing JMP
The following instructions will install the required files on your computer to use JMP. The sign-up and verification procedure only needs to be performed once and can then be used to login to the software installed on any of your devices.
Instructions
To install JMP you will need to validate your account online and then install the program from Company Portal (Windows) or Self-Service (Mac). If this is your personal computer, you will need to install from JMP’s website.
Step 1 - Log in to JMP Student Portal
Go to https://www.jmp.com/student and click the “Get JMP for free!” button. Then, scroll down and click the "Get started at My JMP".
Enter your username@usnh.edu and click "Sign In." If you haven’t created an account before, you’ll be prompted to enter your First and Last name, and then click "Sign Up." (This MUST be your University email address to continue)
Step 2 - Authenticate and validate your university connection
Once you sign up, you will receive an email with a verification code required to proceed with the account creation. Your account is not activated until this code has been entered. Click Verify.
Terms of use may pop up, you must accept these terms to continue. You will then be redirected to an information form, select your affiliation and fill out the required sections and select next. (You may use the University address)
Now you will begin the validation process. Click start to begin.
In the search box, type in the University/College you are affiliated with (University System of New Hampshire). Select the appropriate name. If the search box is not locating the appropriate campus, select "Can't find your institution", enter your username@usnh.edu email address and wait for the email to appear.
The link in the email from Proxi ID will provide a link to redirect you to your affiliated login page. You will use your USNH credentials to verify your login.
You will then be redirected to a Software Downloads page. DO NOT DOWNLOAD FROM THIS PAGE UNLESS THIS IS A PERSONALLY OWNED DEVICE.
Step 4 - Download JMP
Once your account is authenticated, you can now install JMP v18.
NOTE: If you are on a personal device you should proceed with the install through the redirected page by selecting the appropriate OS. If you are on a university owned device, you should close this window and proceed with the download through Company Portal/Self-Service.
On a managed Windows device, use the search box to locate "Company Portal". Click on Apps on the left side or use the search box within Company Portal to search for JMP. Select JMP, then Install.
On a managed Mac, open LaunchPad and locate Self-Service or use spotlight search to open Self-Service. Locate JMP V18 and select Install.
Upon first launch of the software, you will be prompted to validate by entering your username@usnh.edu, and after entering a verification code sent to your email, JMP should open.

You have successfully installed JMP on your personal or university owned device.
