Creating a WebI to Hyper Delivery Workflow

Summary

If you plan to deliver to a Hyper file to Tableau, it is best practice to create a workflow for this delivery method. This makes it easier to update different elements of the workflow when needed.
 

How-To

Task: Create a delivery Workflow from a WebI file. 

Instructions

Step 1 - Log in to InfoBurst

Step 2 - Navigate to your “My Home” folder

Step 3 - Click on the New button and select Workflow.

Step 4 - Choose WebI to Tableau Hyper

Step 5 - Select Continue to display a dropdown menu of available WebI report folders

Step 6 - Browse to and select the correct Webi Report then click Continue.

Step 7 - Enter any required Webi Prompts (Select LOV for a list of field values) and select Continue.

  • Note: the prompts will vary for each report

Step 8 - Fill in fields:

  • Select a project for your Tableau Delivery by clicking on the folder icon.
  • Enter a File name if you want the data source to be named something other than the report name.
  • Select Replace if you want your file to overwrite each time it runs.
  • Select the desired Report Tab.
  • When ready, click Continue.

Step 9 - Choose a schedule from the drop down menu and fill in the frequency prompts.

Step 10 - Select Run Now then Save the workflow.

 

Outcome

You should be able to see and use the Hyper file in Tableau.
