Salesforce Marketing Cloud: Updating URL Links in Sent or Scheduled Marketing Cloud Emails

If you need to update a URL link in a Salesforce Marketing Cloud email that has already been sent or scheduled, our Salesforce Marketing Cloud Admin team is here to assist. Instead of resending a new email, you can request an update to the existing links on the email that has already been sent or scheduled.

Task: The steps below will outline the process of updating an URL post send.

How to Request a URL Update

To request an update, please reach out to the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Admins by fill out the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Webform. Include the following details in your request:

  • Name of the Business Unit
  • Job ID
  • Email Name
  • Status Completed or Scheduled
  • Date & Time Sent/Scheduled
  • Old URL Link that should be updated
  • New URL Link to be used

Limitations to Keep in Mind

  • Text Only Emails: URL updates are not possible for text-only emails.
  • Personalization Strings & AMPscript: New personalization strings or AMPscript variable references cannot be added during the update.
  • Link Age: Links older than 90 days may not be available for editing.
  • Refresh Required: You may need to refresh the email client and/or browser for the changes to take effect.
