To outline the process for Developers with Creator licenses to follow to activate their license.

How-To

Instructions

1. In Tableau Desktop, go to Help and click on Manage Product Keys.

2. Click the Activate button.

3. Click the “Activate with a Product Key” option.

4. Enter your product key and click Activate.

5. You should receive a confirmation message, proceed.
6. Click on the previous product key (Product: Tableau Desktop; License Expires: Permanent).
7. Click the Deactivate button.

8. You will receive a pop-up asking if you are sure, click “yes”.

Outcome

You should see your product key listed along with the "Tableau Creator" product listed, with an expiration date of 10/4/2027. Your Creator license should now be active and able to be used.
