Directed Communications: Workday Human Resources changes

Overview of the changes due to the move in December 2024 from using Banner HR to Workday HR.

This article is for users of Directed Communications who use Employee Lists.
 

Overview

On December 19, 2024, Banner HR stopped accepting employee changes and all HR data was converted to Workday. For Directed Communications, this required a change in the data source for Employee Lists from Banner to Workday. 
 

Details

New Data Extensions provided with Workday Employee data will replace the old Banner HR Employee-related Data Extensions. A mapping of the old to new Data Extensions is provided here: Data Extensions Crosswalk
 

Impacts on Audience Selection

Once this work has been finished the following changes need to be considered when putting together communications:

  • ET&S (IT) employees are now classified as USNH employees.   If you need to send to this population, please use the Data Extension “Workday - Staff - IT Departments” in the folder “Shared Data Extensions/Workday/USNH/Staff”. 

Some examples of communications that could be sent:

  • Sending a communication to all faculty and Staff including student workers at UNH COLSA.  You would need to use the following Data Extensions:
    • Workday - Faculty – COLSA
    • Workday - Staff – COLSA
  • Sending a communication to all faculty and Staff including student workers (including ET&S) at UNH.  You would need to use the following Data Extensions:
    • Workday - All Employees Including Student Employees
