Summary
Student Workers
When a student employee is no longer employed by USNH, but is still an active student, they will continue to access the Careers app, past payslips, tax documents, and other personal information via the Workday Login using single sign-on (SSO).
Contingent Workers (including Emeriti)
Former employees (including those with Emeritus status) who have been contracted as Contingent Workers access Workday via the Workday Login using single sign-on (SSO). Contingent Workers DO NOT have access to payslips or tax documents. For assistance accessing prior employment payroll or W-2 Form information, please complete a Payroll Support/Inquiry request or contact USNH Payroll by calling (603) 862-2525 > Finance (Option 6) > then Payroll (Option 1).
All Other Former Employees
(Including former students, other retirees, etc.)
When a former employee (non-student, non-contingent worker, non-emeriti) is no longer employed by USNH, access to past payslips, tax documents, and other personal information will be via the Local Workday Login. Most employees retain access to Workday through October of the year following the year in which they received their last payment.
Access to Workday via a Local Workday Account requires username, password and setup of the local MFA (multi-factor authentication). Former employees will no longer use USNH's Microsoft password processes (Single Sign-On) or MFA.
Local Workday Login

Former employees should use the Forgot Password? option below the Sign In box to establish their Local Workday Account.
The Forgot Password? option uses the former employees’ Home Contact Email address on file in Workday. It’s important that employees review/update their email information before their last day of employment. Active employees can use the Workday My Contact Information task to maintain this information.
For assistance updating Home Contact Email information post-employment please submit an HR Operations Support Request. You can also contact HR Operations by calling (603) 862-2525 > Human Resources (Option 5) > then HR Operations (Option 6).

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Local Workday Accounts
Former employees setting up a Local Workday Account will also have to set up Local Workday Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Options for Local Workday MFA include:
- authenticator apps
- email codes
- SMS text codes
After creating the new Local Workday Account password, former workers will be prompted to also set up MFA for the Local Workday Account. Different MFA options and on-screen prompts are provided.
Note: This Local Workday MFA is entirely separate from the USNH MFA the user had before leaving USNH.
