Answers

A1 - What is the Remediate ID Number Project?

Across USNH, there are different unique identifier (ID) numbers used by students, faculty, and staff for authentication and access to various systems. As a requirement of the Workday Student Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which will be brought online beginning in Fall of 2026, there is a need to migrate all campus systems to use the nine (9) digit University System of New Hampshire identification (USNH ID) number. Currently, all students, faculty, and staff have a USNH ID number.

A2 - Why does this need to be done?

Centralizing the USNH ID number across all colleges will reduce maintenance and management of user identity systems, and this update will prevent system(s) failures once the campus-specific (Banner/Colleague) ID numbers are fully retired in 2027. This change will also avoid any possible delays to the launch of the ERP program and apps dependent on the ID number as an identifier.

A5 - What if I do not see my app on the list?

We have connected with all application owners at Keene and Plymouth and have identified the applications at Keene and Plymouth that need remediation. It has been determined there are other applications that do not need remediation as part of the ID Number Remediation Project for one or more of these reasons:

  • The USNH ID number is already being included in the data,
  • The application is part of the Workday project cutover and will include the remediation under that project,
  • The application is affiliated/dependent on use of the campus ID Card and will be addressed as a part of that project or,
  • The application does not use an ID number as an identifier and therefore will not need remediation.

Some applications may be on hold while a determination is being made to include in this project.

Please NOTE: If you are an application owner at Keene or Plymouth who believes your app may need to have the ID field remediated from the campus-specific ID number to the USNH ID number and have not been in contact with anyone from this project team, or from the workday team, please contact laura.mathiasen@usnh.edu

A7 - Will I need to do anything?

No. Because all students, faculty, and staff already have a USNH ID number, we ask that you begin to familiarize yourself with your USNH ID number and use it as the key ID number moving forward. See instructions in: Finding your USNH ID number
