This article provides instructions on how to view an attachment during scanning and describes attachment scanning using Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection (ATP).
Content
Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) Safe Attachments protects against unknown malware, viruses, and other potential vulnerabilities to safeguard your messaging system. All messages and attachments that don't have a known virus/malware signature are routed to a special environment where ATP uses a variety of machine learning and analysis techniques to detect malicious intent. If no suspicious activity is detected, the message is released for delivery to the mailbox.
How-To
Task: To view your quarantine list.
Instructions
Step 1 - Open a web browser and navigate to https://security.microsoft.com/quarantine
Note: If this link does not work from the Outlook client, try a private browser or a new browser window.
Outcome
A list of quarantined email messages is displayed.

Task: To view an attachment during the scan.
If you receive a message with an attachment, the attachment can still be viewed before the ATP Scan has completed. The scan should only take a few moments.
Instructions
Step 1 - In the email message, select Preview under the attachment.
or
Step 1 - Right-click and select Preview from the menu.
Outcome
The attachment opens in a preview window.
