Advanced Threat Protection: Confirming Safe Links is Enabled

When sending emails, Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) Safe Links helps to protect against malicious links commonly used in phishing attacks. When ATP Safe Links is enabled, when a link is clicked from within an email message, safe links checks the organization’s blocked URL list to confirm the link is not malicious.

Although the link displays as the basic URL within the email message, it contains the full Safe Links URL.

Task: To confirm that Safe Links is enabled.

 

Instructions

Step 1 - Click a link in an email message.

 

Outcome

When the link opens in a browser, the safe link URL displays in the URL address field prior to loading the page.
