How-To

Task: To map departmental share drive on Windows 10.

Note: Off-campus users need to connect to the USNH VPN before following these instructions.

 

Instructions

Step 1 - Click on the Windows Explorer icon on your task bar.

 

Step 2 - On the left side of the Windows Explorer windows, click on "This PC"

 

Step 3 - At the top of the window, click the tab named "Computer" and then click "Map network drive"

 

Step 4 - For the folder name enter: \\space.plymouth.edu\DeptShareName (DeptShareName representing the name of the shared drive).

Note: Make sure the Reconnect at logon, is checked and if you're on your personal computer (not PSU owned) make sure Connect using different credentials, is checked.

 

Step 5 - If you checked Connect using different credentials, a new window will pop up. Type in: ad\username in the username field, where username is your myPlymouth username. Type in your myPlymouth password in the password field. If you do not see a window open, click on Finish, or OK.

Note: Make sure the Remember my credentials is checked.

 

Outcome

A new window should open showing you the shared drive you just mapped to. The drive will then be available to be accessed in Windows Explorer on the left side.
