PSU - Embedding a Kaltura Video on Mahara ePortfolio Page

Instructions

Step 1 -  Login to myPortal

Step 2 -  Search for Mahara ePortfolio

Step 3 - Click on Mahara. You will now be looking at your Mahara portfolio's homepage.

Step 4 - Click on Main Menu in the upper right side of the dashboard page.

Step 5 - Click on the down arrow next to Create title.

Step 6 - Click on the Pages and Collections sub-title.

Step 7 - Click on title of Page you want to edit.

Step 8 - Click the Pencil Icon button (edit mode).

Step 9 - Go back to your my.usnh.edu tab in your browser

• Search for Kaltura
• Click on Kaltura
• Login to the site by clicking Guest 
• Then click on your name and MyMedia
• If your video has been uploaded to Kaltura, click the video title that you would like to embed.
• Click the Share icon button in the upper corner of the video window.
• Copy the Embed Code next to the Embed icon - you will paste it into Mahara in the next step.

Step 10 - Go back to your Mahara page which you should have open in another tab in your browser.You should still be in "edit" mode in your Mahara page. Click External option on block style menu on left side of screen.

Step 11 - Drag and drop the External Media block down to your page and let go of the mouse when you've placed the block to where you want it on your Page. The Configure window will automatically pop up.

Step 12 - Create a Block Title for your video

Step 13 - Paste the Embed Code you have copied from your Kaltura video in the URL or Embed Code box.

Step 14 - Click Save at the bottom of the page when you are done.

Your video should be successfully added to your Page!

Outcome

Users should be able to embed Kaltura videos into Mahara.
