This article reviews the messaging feature in myPortal 

How-To

Task: This article will teach you about the messaging feature in myPortal, users will be able to use and chat in myPortal. 

Instructions

To start a conversation in myPortal simply click the message icon in the top right. New Chat icon in myPortal  

From there you can click on the New Chat Icon  next to Messages New Chat Icon or click on See All and then New Chat New Chat Icon from See All

If you want to start a New Chat simply search for any user across USNH you would like to add to the chat in the search bar that says Add Members.  If you have added anyone accidentally, simply click the X next to their name to remove them from the chat. 

Add your message to the lower bar on your screen where it says Write a Message. Enter your message and click enter or the arrow on your screen.

You can click the plus button and add images or files to your chat.

If you click the names at the top of the chat and have at least 3 chat members, you can also customize the name of the chat. Click on Info then type in a new name for your chat. Click Save Changes

The chat will now reflect the new name in your header.

 

If you're in multiple chats you can always leave a chat, simply click on the title of the chat. Under the Chat Settings you will see Leave Chat. You will be asked to make sure you want to leave the chat click Leave Chat to leave.

You'll also see you can add members to a chat. Click on Add Members and a new search bar will appear for you to add members to the chat, search for additional people to add to your chat and click Add to add new members to an existing chat. 

Outcome

Users will be able to utilize the chat feature in myPortal.
