SPSS is a software package used for statistical analysis in various fields. This article details how to upgrade or install a new copy of SPSS on your MacOS devices.

Task: To upgrade or install SPSS for MacOS

If you need to upgrade SPSS or install a new copy, follow these instructions to install, and then proceed with the licensing steps.

Instructions

Step 1Connect to the repository for the installation files here: USNH SPSS   This folder is accessible to all USNH account holders, but you may have to login with your USNH username and password to gain access.

Step 2 - Open the folder labeled SPSS 30 - MAC.

Step 3 - Download the file named SPSSSC_30.0.0.0_Mac_OS.pkg by scrolling over the file, selecting the circle next to the file name, and clicking the Download button that appears as a down arrow with the word "Download" above the file. Be sure to Download the file to your computer. Do not Open it from the location.

 

Step 4 - Open Finder and go to your Downloads folder. If you don't see a link to the Downloads folder on the left hand side, you can click Go at the very top of your screen, then click Downloads.

Step 5 - Double click on the SPSSSC_30.0.0.0_Mac_OS.pkg file.  

Step 6 - To begin the installation, click Continue.

Step 7 - Click Continue.

Step 8 -Click Agree 

 

Step 9 -Click Install.

 

Step 10 -The Installer needs verification. Type in your macOS username and password to install the software.

Step 11 -Click Close.

 

When you first launch SPSS, you will be asked to Activate IBM SPSS Statistics.  Click "Launch License Wizard", then continue to the next step: SPSS Licensing to review the choices available to you to activate your copy.

Step 12 - Next Step: SPSS Licensing

 

Outcome

You have successfully upgraded or installed SPSS on your MacOS device.
